About

The Thames Path 100 follows the Thames Path National Trail against the river's flow, from Richmond in south west London to the centre of Oxford. It is the flattest of Centurion Running's four 100-milers, 100 miles with 1,900 feet of climb over groomed path and paved towpath, so it is the one entered for a time rather than for terrain.

The race starts at 9:00 a.m. and holds a 30-hour cutoff, with 13 aid stations. Entry is first come, first served and requires a 50-mile finish inside 15 hours. A finish counts as a Western States 100 qualifier, and the race is the first leg of Centurion's Grand Slam of 100s, run in the same calendar year as the South Downs Way 100, the North Downs Way 100 and the Autumn 100.

Course

Point to point up the Thames Path National Trail from Richmond New Waterfront to the Queen's College Sports Ground in Oxford, following the river upstream. 100 miles with 1,900 feet of climb, 13 aid stations, 25 percent paved and 75 percent trail, a 9:00 a.m. start and a 30-hour cutoff.

How to register

Entry is first come, first served through Centurion Running, for a field of 300, and requires a 50-mile finish inside 15 hours; unqualified runners may enter but are contacted about eight weeks out to verify their plans. Volunteers from the previous year get free priority entry before general places go on sale. Runners can also enter as part of Centurion's Grand Slam of 100s, which is 50 places and covers all four of its 100-mile races.
