About
Cocodona 250 crosses Arizona south to north: out of the Sonoran Desert at Black Canyon City, through the Bradshaw Mountains to Prescott, over Mingus Mountain to Jerome, through Sedona's red rock, and up to the pines of Flagstaff. Since its first running in 2021 it has become the marquee American 200-plus-miler.
Aravaipa Running produces the race week like a broadcast event, with days of live coverage, drone footage, and commentary that have made the first week of May appointment viewing for the sport.
Course
About 253 miles point-to-point with roughly 40,000 feet of climbing, from low desert at 2,000 feet to the finish near 7,000 feet in Flagstaff. Runners manage sleep on their own clock against a 125-hour cutoff.
How to register
Starting with the 2027 race, entry to the 250 is by lottery, drawn each spring with extra tickets for previous finishers and race volunteers; the shorter Cocodona-week races keep standard registration. The race also serves as a qualifier and proving ground for the growing 200-mile circuit.
