About
Restonica Trail by UTMB runs in July from Corte, in the mountains at the centre of Corsica. Its long race is the Ultra-Trail di Corsica, 110 km with 7,200 m of climbing, which leaves the Cours Paoli at eleven on the Thursday night and comes back to the same street. The Restonica Trail itself is the 69 km race, and the weekend adds a 33 km, a 17 km, a solidarity walk and two relay formats over the 110 km course.
The event is run by the Restonica Trail association, a French athletics club, rather than by UTMB, and it is a UTMB World Series event, so a finish earns Running Stones toward the Chamonix lottery. It is a hard weekend on a small island: 685 runners started the Ultra-Trail di Corsica in 2026 and 478 finished, and the 69 km finished 858 of 1,139.
Course
The Ultra-Trail di Corsica covers 110 km with 7,200 m of climbing, starting and finishing on the Cours Paoli in Corte and reaching Calacuccia, the Ballone and the Ciattarinu before returning by the Grotelle above the Restonica gorge. The Restonica Trail covers 69 km with 3,950 m from the same start, and goes off in waves ten minutes apart. Neither race publishes a finishing barrier, only the cut-offs at its checkpoints.
How to register
Entry is direct online registration through the race's own site, with no lottery and no UTMB Index requirement. The gate is a French federation document instead: an FFA competition, company or running licence, or a certificate showing the Parcours Prévention Santé has been completed. Entries for 2026 closed on 30 June and three of the four solo races sold out. The 2027 race runs 8 to 10 July; entry has not opened yet, and the race page asks runners to sign up to be told when it does.
