About
The Siskiyou Out Back, known as the SOB, runs the trails that make Ashland a trail-running town. The 100K starts near the top of the Siskiyous at Mt. Ashland Lodge, drops into the Ashland Creek watershed and tours the local trails, then climbs back to the ridge and takes the Pacific Crest Trail out and back along the Siskiyou Crest before a final climb over the summit of Mt. Ashland to the finish at the Lodge. It covers 60.4 miles with about 10,500 feet of climbing.
The 100K starts at 5:00 a.m. and holds an 18-hour cutoff. A finish counts as a Western States 100 qualifier, and the race carries a UTMB Index. The festival weekend also holds the Brink 100 (a 100-miler), a 50K, a 15K, and an 8K.
Course
A loop out of Mt. Ashland Lodge into the Ashland Creek watershed and back to the high country, then an out-and-back on the Pacific Crest Trail along the Siskiyou Crest, finishing with a climb over the summit of Mt. Ashland and a steep descent to the Lodge: 60.4 miles, about 10,500 feet of climbing. The 100K starts at 5:00 a.m. with an 18-hour cutoff.
