About
Pandora's Box of Rox is built around a 13.1-mile lap at Reveille Peak Ranch outside Burnet, and its ultra is a double marathon: four laps, 52.4 miles. The loop crosses meadows and scenic overlooks and goes up and over one of the largest granite domes in this part of the country, a stretch the organiser warns is hot and exposed enough that anyone racing eight miles or more should carry water across it.
The 52.4 starts at 6:00 a.m. Runners must be on their last lap by 6:00 p.m. and the course closes at 10:00 p.m., a limit of sixteen hours. Four stations serve the lap: Lake at the start, finish and turnover, Road at 2.4 miles, Jack at 6.3 and Gate at 9.8, with Lake and Jack fully stocked and Gate doubling as a self-service drop-bag point.
Nothing else here is an ultra. The marathon runs two laps, the half marathon one, and there are eight-mile and four-mile races behind them. The race publishes no elevation figure, and there are no restrooms on the course.
Course

Gate is at the 360 Bridge entrance and is where runners can leave their own drop bag. No elevation gain is published for any distance.
