Mosaic Trail Race

The Mosaic Trail Race moved to Canyon of the Eagles for 2026, an LCRA park on Lake Buchanan north of Austin, and the 50K there runs three laps of a little over 10.3 miles. The race hub is down by the pier at the swimming area, next to the lake.

The 50K starts at 7:00 a.m. with the marathon. Runners must be on their last full lap by 1:40 p.m., and the course closes at 5:00 p.m., which gives the distance ten hours. Aid comes at least every 3.5 miles; the first station on course carries water, Tailwind and Saltstick only, and Eagle Eye is the fully stocked one.

Tejas Trails calls the ground Hill Country rather than mountain: wider jeep road, tighter singletrack, hard-packed dirt, rocks, creek beds, bluffs and cactus, with no long climbs. It publishes no elevation figure. The race is cupless, there is no drop-bag service, and pacers are not allowed.

Three laps of a little over 10.3 miles for the 50K; the marathon runs four 6.55-mile laps of the same general route and the half marathon two. 2026 is the race's first year at Canyon of the Eagles. Every edition before it, including all four years behind the course records, ran a different course of ten 3.10-mile laps. Eagle Eye is the fully stocked station on the new course, and the first station runners reach carries water, Tailwind and Saltstick only.

First-come sign-up on RunSignUp, with no lottery, no qualifying standard and no published field cap. Entry for December 2026 opened on December 9, 2025 and closes at 8:45 a.m. on race morning. The 50K was $110 from December 15, 2025 through September 14, 2026 and rises in steps to $135 by race day. Registration covers the park's $5 access fee. November 10 is the deadline to be sure of a shirt.
