Courmayeur to Champex-Lac to Chamonix: about 101 km over the second half of the Mont Blanc loop, from Italy through Switzerland to the finish in Chamonix.

The course was cut twice. Two days before the start UTMB rerouted two Swiss sections, sending runners down to about 500 meters near Martigny and back up the Trient valley instead of over La Giète. On race day the last climb went too, with runners already out, so the course no longer passes La Flégère above Chamonix. What is left is 108 km with 6,200 meters of climbing, against about 101 km and 6,015 before either change. The race page gives a 28-hour limit and the runner's guide for this edition gives 26 hours 30 minutes; on the 28 hours, which is what the timing system enforced, the finish closed at 1:30 p.m. on the Saturday. The 9:00 start did not change.

About
The CCC starts in Courmayeur in Italy, climbs over the Grand Col Ferret into Switzerland, passes through Champex-Lac, and finishes on the same street in Chamonix that UTMB finishes on. It is the second half of the UTMB course run as its own race: about 101 kilometers with just over 6,000 meters of climbing.
People call it UTMB's little sister, which undersells it. The field is one of the strongest of any 100-kilometer race in the year, and plenty of runners who could handle the full loop enter this instead. From 2026 it also hands out Western States Golden Tickets: the top three men and the top three women earn an automatic place at the Western States 100 the following June.
Course
The high point is the Grand Col Ferret at about 2,530 meters, a little over 30 kilometers in. The long descent from there runs down the Swiss valley to Champex-Lac at about 54 kilometers, and the climbs that decide the race come after that, in the last 45.
Runners start in five waves grouped at three times, and UTMB measures every cutoff from the last wave rather than the first, so the published closing times sit later than a first-wave runner's own limit.
How to register
Getting in works the same way as UTMB. Finishing races in the UTMB World Series earns Running Stones, and those stones buy tickets in a lottery held each December. Elite runners are taken separately, on their UTMB Index. The top three men and the top three women earn Western States Golden Tickets, which pass down the finishing order as far as seventh if a runner ahead turns one down.
