How it went
Martyna Młynarczyk held off a late charge from Sylvia Nordskar to win the women's race in 11:41:55, the second-fastest CCC ever run. Nordskar went past her with about six kilometers left. Młynarczyk came back at her in the closing stretch and won by 18 seconds, with Anna Tarasova third and the whole podium inside just over two minutes. It was a hard win to have missed: Młynarczyk had dropped out of Western States in June.
Francesco Puppi broke the men's race open just after Champex-Lac, around halfway, and ran alone from there to finish in 10:06:02, also the second-fastest time in the race's history. David Sinclair held second all the way home and Drew Holmen was third. The CCC is the 100-kilometer final of the UTMB World Series, and the field was deep enough that several runners capable of the full UTMB entered this instead.
