CCC 2026

Friday, August 28, 2026 · Completed

The course was cut twice. Two days before the start UTMB rerouted two Swiss sections, sending runners down to about 500 meters near Martigny and back up the Trient valley instead of over La Giète. On race day the last climb went too, with runners already out, so the course no longer passes La Flégère above Chamonix. What is left is 108 km with 6,200 meters of climbing, against about 101 km and 6,015 before either change. The race page gives a 28-hour limit and the runner's guide for this edition gives 26 hours 30 minutes; on the 28 hours, which is what the timing system enforced, the finish closed at 1:30 p.m. on the Saturday. The 9:00 start did not change.

How it went

Cristian Minoggio won in 10:21:48 and Yngvild Kaspersen won the women's race in 12:01:14, on a course UTMB cut twice, the second time while the race was running. Minoggio left Champex-Lac at 54 km with four other men within two minutes of him and was eight minutes clear by Vallorcine at 90. Miguel Arsenio finished second in 10:27:25 and Hans Troyer third in 10:33:29.

Kaspersen won the CCC for the second time, three years after her first, having been 132nd overall at 26 km and still 92nd at Champex-Lac. Toni McCann was second in 12:06:14 and Miao Yao third in 12:15:41, and all three women on the podium had won a race in Chamonix before. 1,516 of the 1,974 starters finished; Champex-Lac and Trient, the two ends of the rerouted section, accounted for more than half of the 457 who left the course.
