About
The Mozart 100 runs east of Salzburg through the Salzkammergut, the lake country the city looks out on. The long race leaves Fuschl am See at five in the morning, works along the southern shore of the Wolfgangsee to St. Gilgen, and then climbs the two mountains that decide it, the Schafberg and the Zwölferhorn, before coming back to the lake it started on.
It is a UTMB World Series event, so a finish earns Running Stones toward the Chamonix lottery: four for the long race, three for the Ultra, two for the marathon, one for the half. Six races share the day: the 119 km Mozart 100, the 84 km Mozart Ultra, a 44 km marathon, a 28 km half, a 12 km loop of the Fuschlsee, and a four-person relay run over the Ultra course. The long race is the one that hurts. In 2026 it started 545 runners and finished 330.
Course
The Mozart 100 is a 119 km loop from Fuschl am See with 6,000 m of climbing and a 24-hour limit, out along the Wolfgangsee to St. Gilgen and over the Schafberg and the Zwölferhorn. The organiser's own course note calls those two ascents "demanding" and says they require "both endurance and surefootedness." The Mozart Ultra covers 84 km and 4,800 m from St. Gilgen on a 19-hour limit, and it is a longer race in 2027 than it was in 2026, when it ran 72 km with 3,300 m. Every race finishes in Fuschl am See. The finish area closes at five on Sunday morning, which is the Mozart 100's own 24-hour limit and what the race's German schedule states as "05:00 Uhr - Zielschluss (6. Juni)".
How to register
Entry is open registration, first come first served, and the race says plainly that there is no lottery, no qualifying result to submit and "no waiting list". Runners holding a valid UTMB Index get a 48-hour head start: "Priority Registration is a 48-hour window of time immediately before mozart 100 by UTMB's general registration opens", capped, and able to sell out inside those two days. After it, "registrations for runners with or without a valid UTMB index will be open until the respective races are sold out." Prices rise in tiers as places go, and in August 2026 the tier selling for 2027 was 414.62 euros for the Mozart 100 and 266.78 for the Mozart Ultra. Entrants must be 18 or over for every race except the half marathon, which takes 16-year-olds.
