Western States Golden Ticket Races
The fastest way into the Western States 100: finish at the top of a Golden Ticket race and skip the lottery entirely. Below are the races that award automatic entries to the 2027 race, in season order.

How Golden Tickets work
Each Golden Ticket race awards automatic Western States entries to its top finishers: three per gender at the biggest races, two at the others. A runner who is already entered, or who declines, passes the ticket down the results, as far as seventh place in the three-ticket races and fifth in the two-ticket races. Tickets declined after May 1 go to the wait list instead.
