About
The Long Haul 100 runs six 16.8-mile loops through Colt Creek State Park in Lakeland, in central Florida. Runners spend the day and night on trails through wild Florida in January, and the race tells them to look out for alligators, otters, gopher tortoises and fox squirrels. A1 Ultra Events puts it on, led by Andy and Amy Mathews, and a 12.5-mile 100 Furlongs runs on a shortened loop the same morning.
The limit is 32 hours from a 7 a.m. Saturday start. Finish inside 30 hours and it counts as a Western States 100 qualifier, which the race bills as the only one in Florida.
Course
Six loops of 16.8 miles from a single start and finish in the park. Each loop passes three staffed aid stations: one on the South Loop that runners reach twice, one at Metal Mark Pond and one near the start, with drop bags available every loop. Pacers can join after the third loop, at mile 50.1, and runners over 60 can have one from the start. The race publishes no elevation figure.
How to register
Entry is on UltraSignup. The January 2027 race is sold out and its waitlist is paused; the race expects most runners already on the waitlist to be offered a place, with 48 hours to accept, and says it will reopen the waitlist if it clears. There are no refunds, but entrants can roll over part of their fee to the next year on a sliding scale.
