How it went

Rémy Brassac won the 2026 TDS in 19:28:43. Pierre-Adrien Hivert was second in 20:14:26 and Nicolas Court third in 20:56:52. Davide Rivero crossed the line third in 20:42:43 and was moved to sixth by a 45-minute penalty, which UTMB's timing records against him as an unauthorized pack change. Sarah Vieuille won the women's race in 22:08:16, ninth overall, and led it from the first timing mat, 7.7 km in, to the line. Alice Meignié was second in 22:30:29 and Alyssa Clark third in 22:54:19.

Brassac did not lead until 115 kilometers. Clovis Chaverot was first at every timing mat from the Arête du Mont-Favre at 12.2 km to the Barrage de la Girotte at 108.6 km, and came into the barrage 17 minutes 41 seconds up on him. The 6.7 km climb to Signal that follows took Chaverot 1:37:50. Brassac climbed it in 50:54 and came over the top in front. Chaverot crossed Signal in third and withdrew at Les Contamines-Montjoie, 122.8 km in.

He had plenty of company. Louison Coiffet, who started with the highest UTMB Index in the field, stopped at Bourg-Saint-Maurice at 51 km while lying fourth. Beaufort, the aid station at 92 km, took Tyler Green out of 18th, and Jeff Browning and Ragna Debats with him. Ida Sophie Hegemann went out at the exit mat a few hundred meters further on, at 14:00:45; she dropped from the 2025 TDS at 14:00:21. Six of the seven highest UTMB Index scores in the race belonged to runners who did not finish. The seventh was Brassac.

The race ran its full course to its full limit. Of 1,290 starters 715 finished, and the last of them, Radu Restivan, came into Chamonix in 44:54:19, 41 seconds inside the 44-hour 55-minute cutoff.
