About
Paraty Brazil by UTMB runs out of the colonial centre of Paraty, on the coast between Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo, in the third week of September. The PTR 108 leaves the historic centre at 7 p.m. on the Friday, climbs through the Taquari district into the Serra do Mar, crosses to the summit of Pedra da Macela and comes back down the Caminho do Ouro to the same square, 108 km and 4,850 m of climbing on a 30-hour limit. The PTR 58 starts at 5 a.m. on the Saturday.
Entry is a direct sale on the race's site, gated on a UTMB Index (a 50K index for the 108, a 20K index for the 58), and closed for 2026 on August 10. A PTR 108 finish inside 26 hours counts as a Western States 100 qualifier.
Course
The 108 starts and finishes in Paraty's historic centre: out through Taquari, up to the highest points of the Serra do Mar, along the ridge to Pedra da Macela, then down past the Janela do Mar and along the Caminho do Ouro. The 58 shares the finish.
How to register
Entry is a direct sale on the race's site, with no lottery: the PTR 108 needs a valid UTMB Index in the 50K category and the PTR 58 one in the 20K category. Registration for 2026 closed on August 10.
