How it went
Run on a storm-rerouted 61-kilometer alternate course after organizers cut the high sections and delayed the start, the OCC still produced two close finishes. Jim Walmsley held off a late charge from Cristian Minoggio to win the men's race in 5:00:35, 20 seconds clear at the line, with Andrzej Witek third. Walmsley had stepped down in distance while returning from injury.
Miao Yao won the women's race in 5:35:13 for her second OCC title in a row, though not on the day: she crossed the line second behind Joyline Chepngeno, who was later disqualified after a doping sanction and had the result nullified. Judith Wyder and Maude Mathys completed the podium.
