Wy'east Trailfest 2026

Canceled the day before entries would have travelled, for the Grasshopper Fire on the east side of the Mt. Hood National Forest. The organiser said on August 4: "Today's expanded evacuation orders related to the Grasshopper Fire now include the Wy'east Trailfest event's Mt. Hood Meadows staging area. Due to the evacuation order, combined with ongoing, unsafe AQI levels, we are forced to cancel Wy'east Trailfest for this year." The day before that it had already rerouted both ultras: "the 50 miler and 50K races will be rerouted entirely onto Mt. Hood Meadows permit area as multi-loop courses and will not be the originally planned point-to-point routes." Both notices were published on the race's registration platform and neither appears on its own website. The same fire moved the [Hood Hundred](/races/hood-hundred) course a fortnight earlier.
