About
The Tor des Géants (TOR330) circles the entire Aosta Valley from Courmayeur along the Alta Via 1 and 2, passing beneath the highest four-thousand-meter peaks in the Alps and through the Gran Paradiso and Mont Avic parks. It covers 330 kilometers with 24,000 meters of climbing, and imposes no compulsory stages: runners choose when and how long to rest, and the clock never stops across up to 150 hours.
The field of about 1,100 starts in two Sunday-morning waves and has a week to get back to Courmayeur. The TORX event also holds the longer TOR450 (Tor des Glaciers), the TOR130 Tot Dret, and shorter races, and its live tracking draws one of the biggest followings in ultrarunning each September.
Course
One giant loop of the Aosta Valley on the Alta Via 1 and 2, supported by six life bases along the way. The 150-hour limit and 24,000 meters of climbing make sleep strategy as decisive as speed; the course record stands at 66:08 and mid-pack runners take most of the week.
How to register
Finishers of a TORX eXperience race earn a PAX, the standing to enter. Registration runs in stages each winter: finisher priority in January, pre-registration and selection in February, then open registration in March until the roughly 1,100 spots fill.
