How it went

Nick Cusseneers won the 2026 Swiss Alps 100's 160 km in 22:48:37, and Claire Bannwarth won the women's race in 27:52:33. Over the 100 km, Gilles Roux won in 12:19:40 and Victoria Buchli in 16:21:19.

Both 160 km winners went faster than anyone in the race's published history: Cusseneers about fifty minutes quicker than Yurick Aregger's 23:38:44 from 2025, and Bannwarth about forty-nine ahead of Giulia Saggin's 28:41:55 from 2024. The race keeps no official course records, and the 2026 course measured 159.4 km at the finish. Second in the women's 160 km, in 29:23:48, was Jasmin Paris, the first woman to finish the Barkley Marathons.

The 100 km ran overnight, off a 5:30 p.m. Friday start the race flags on its schedule as a new starting time, and its women's podium came down to five minutes across three consecutive places overall: Buchli, then Jessica Cohen in 16:24:30 and Marta Wenta in 16:26:25.

On the 50 km on Saturday morning, Christoph Frank won in 5:50:32 and Lore Smeets won the women's race in 6:24:17, fourth overall.
