The organisers canceled the whole 2026 event on July 30, a week out, for wildfire activity, smoke and air-quality concerns in Manning Park. They counted five active fires in or near the park, one of them less than 500 metres from the course, and found no reroute that avoided the smoke. Entrants were told by email and on the race's own channels.
