How it went

Kaylee Frederick won the 2026 Eastern States 100 outright in 23:09:48, and Francis Daley won the men's race in 24:40:23. Frederick, 21, of Johnstown, Pennsylvania, was first across the line of the whole field by an hour and a half. Gabriel Batdorf took second man in 24:44:46 and Justin Demurias third in 26:07:01; Justyna Wilson was second woman in 24:45:02 and Marissa Kovach third in 27:51:47.

Frederick was not in front for the first half. Tyler Hanks and Jesse Stauffer led through the middle of the course and were still eight minutes up on her at Big Trail, mile 57. She was first into Tomb Flats at mile 63.3 and led the rest of the way, by 55 minutes at Blackwell and by an hour at Barrens, mile 93.5. Hanks stopped at Tomb Flats and Stauffer lost four hours over the next 18 miles, finishing 18th. Wilson, who won the women's race here in 2022 and 2025, ran four and a half minutes faster than her 2025 winning time and finished second.

Frederick's time is an hour and twenty-four minutes inside Nicole Yokum's 2021 women's course record, and she is the first woman to break twenty-four hours here in the race's ten runnings.
