Winter Downs 200 2025

Caspian James won the 2025 Winter Downs 200 in 43:38:55, a course record by almost six hours, and Sarah Enright won the women's race in 68:29:40. Mike Samuels was second man in 50:34:19 and Tom Harvey third in 55:28:27; Libby Clark and Jemma Lyons crossed the line together in 75:16:27 and were placed equal second, with no third.

James broke clear on the first climb and reached the first checkpoint, at 49 miles, with daylight still in the sky at 8:24 elapsed, which Centurion Running says nobody had done before. He still spent more than four hours stopped, including a forty-minute sleep. Enright ran the whole race uncrewed and led the women from the start; she left the third checkpoint intending to drop, turned round and went back out, and is the fastest uncrewed woman the race has had. Jade Barrett was fourth and became the first person to finish every race on Centurion's calendar.

The course was the driest it had been in the race's three runnings, after two years in which flooding reached it.
