About
RMB Ultra-Trail Cape Town runs on the mountain chain that shapes the city: Signal Hill, Lion's Head, Platteklip Gorge onto Table Mountain, the 12 Apostles, Llandudno, Hout Bay, the Constantia Winelands, and Kirstenbosch, all inside and around Table Mountain National Park. The UTCT 100 miler carries on south through Silvermine, Kalk Bay, Simon's Town, Scarborough, and Kommetjie to the tip of the peninsula and back, with 7,516 meters of vertical gain.
The November date opens the Southern Hemisphere season, the terrain is steep and technical despite the city setting, and the UT100's finish rates regularly drop toward half the field. Shorter races (55 km, 35 km, 23 km, and 16 km) fill out the weekend across the same trails.
Course
All races are loops from the city bowl through Table Mountain National Park on rocky, technical singletrack with steep ascents like Platteklip Gorge. The 100 miler covers about 160 km with 7,516 meters of gain, reaching the remote southern peninsula; the UT100 covers about 100 km over Table Mountain, the Atlantic seaboard, and the Constantia valley. Summer weather swings from single digits on the summit to over 30 C in the valleys.
How to register
Entries open through Quicket, the event's ticketing platform, with six distances from 16 km to the 100 miler; international elites anchor the front of both hundred fields.
