About
The Tahoe Rim Trail Endurance Runs climb onto the Tahoe Rim Trail on the east side of Lake Tahoe, high enough that the thin air is part of the test, with a course topping out near 9,000 feet. The 100-mile covers 18,140 feet of climb, the 100K covers 10,750, and the race sells itself as a glimpse of heaven and a taste of hell. The start and finish have sat in Carson City since a 2021 course change, and shorter 50K and 23K races share the weekend.
The 100-mile starts at 5:00 a.m. and the 100K at 6:00 a.m. Both count as Western States 100 qualifiers: the 100-mile for a sub-36-hour finish, the 100K for sub-20, which is stricter than its own 24-hour cutoff.
