About
Karl "Speedgoat" Meltzer built this race up and down Snowbird's lift lines and ridgelines in 2008, and it has been the hardest-profile 50K in American racing since: roughly 11,000 feet of climbing, most of it above 8,000 feet, topping out over 11,000 at Hidden Peak.
Now part of the UTMB World Series, it draws a championship-depth field to a July weekend in Little Cottonwood Canyon and rewards climbers who can also survive the plunging, loose descents.
Course
A loop from Snowbird Center up ridgelines and service roads to Hidden Peak at 11,000 feet, through Mineral Basin and American Fork, and back over the top before the final drop to the plaza. About 11,000 feet of gain in 50 kilometers.

Registration opens through UTMB and sells out; finishing earns Running Stones for the UTMB lottery.
