South Downs Way 50km 2026

Antonio Martínez Pérez won the 2026 South Downs Way 50km in 3:12:36 and Rebecca Bunting won the women's race in 3:49:37, and both were course records. Riccardo Borgialli was second man in 3:22:33 and Francisco José Anguita Bayo third in 3:28:47; Nicole Funnell was second woman in 4:09:51 with Amy White third in 4:28:28.

Martínez Pérez held under six-minute miles through the first 10 km of rolling ground around the Matterley Bowl and passed the marathon in 2:41, and was still chasing the record up the last climb before going under it. Bunting's win took fifteen minutes off Imogen Ainsworth's time from the first edition. John Fanshawe finished in 7:09, the first runner in the over-80 category to finish any Centurion race.

Conditions were clear all day for the second running. Every runner who made the cutoff at the last checkpoint also made the finish inside nine hours, Helen Morgan and Helen Newman with less than a minute of it left.
