About
The San Diego 100 runs two 50-mile loops through the Cuyamaca Mountains east of the city, from a start on Lake Cuyamaca. The course threads Cuyamaca Rancho State Park, the Pacific Crest Trail, and the Noble Canyon and Indian Creek trails, climbing about 13,000 feet between a 3,500-foot start and a 5,900-foot high point, entirely on unpaved trail. It reaches its 25th running in 2027.
The race starts at 6:00 a.m. and holds a 32-hour cutoff. Entry is first come, first served rather than a lottery, opening January 1, and a finish counts as a Western States 100 qualifier. The date has moved earlier in recent years, from June to late April.
