About
Puglia by UTMB runs across the ravine country between Matera and the Ionian coast in late October, with every race finishing at Castellaneta Marina. I Sassi di Matera leaves Matera at 9 p.m. on the Friday and covers 145 km with 3,500 m of climbing on a 27-hour limit; Le Maioliche di Laterza starts in Laterza on the Saturday morning over 85 km, and the Castellaneta Underground Trail runs 50 km from Castellaneta on the Sunday.
Entry is a direct sale on the race's site, with UTMB Index holders admitted two days before general entry opens in May, and no waiting list; all three ultras were still open in September 2026. A Sassi di Matera finish counts as a Western States 100 qualifier.
Course
The 145 km starts in Matera's Sassi and runs to the coast at Castellaneta Marina; the 85 km starts in Laterza and the 50 km in Castellaneta, and all three finish at the same line. The 2025 edition ran in November; 2026 moves to the last weekend of October.
How to register
Entry is a direct sale on the race's site, opening in May with a two-day head start for UTMB Index holders, and running until the places are gone; the race keeps no waiting list. All three 2026 ultras were open in September.
