About
Patagonia Bariloche by UTMB runs in the mountains around San Carlos de Bariloche on Lake Nahuel Huapi, and its long races start and finish at the Centro Cívico in the middle of town. The Tronador 130K leaves at 10 p.m. on the Friday and covers 131 km with 6,580 m of climbing on a 33-and-a-half-hour limit. The Frey 85K starts from the same square at 5 a.m. Saturday over 88 km, and the Bella Vista 55K runs 57.5 km from Los Baqueanos back into town on the Friday.
The longer races need a valid UTMB Index, meaning a finish at any race that awards one, and places are limited and priced in stages. For 2026 the Frey and the Bella Vista are full, and the Tronador is still open.
Course
The Tronador starts from the Centro Cívico at 10 p.m. Friday and closes there at 7:30 a.m. Sunday. The Frey starts from the Centro Cívico at 5 a.m. Saturday and closes at 3 a.m. Sunday. The Bella Vista starts from Los Baqueanos at 5:30 a.m. Friday and closes at the Centro Cívico at 7:30 p.m. In 2025 the Frey was billed as an 80K.
How to register
Registration is online only, with separate links for runners paying in dollars and in pesos. The longer races need a valid UTMB Index, which any finish at a race awarding one provides, whatever the score. Fees rise through set payment periods and places are limited. For 2026 the Frey and the Bella Vista are full; the Tronador is open.
