About

The Mountain Lakes 100 loops from Olallie Lake Resort through the Mount Hood National Forest, running past dozens of alpine lakes with Mount Jefferson and Mount Hood in view. It climbs and drops about 11,700 feet, which by 100-mile standards is runnable, and that plus the September timing makes it a common pick for a first hundred or a fast one.

Go Beyond Racing puts it on, starting at 8:00 a.m. with a 30-hour cutoff. Entry is first come, first served rather than a lottery, capped at 150 runners, and a finish counts as a Western States 100 qualifier.
