About

The Massanutten Mountain Trails 100, MMT to almost everyone, loops through the rocky ridges of the Massanutten range around Fort Valley, Virginia, starting and finishing at Caroline Furnace Lutheran Camp. The footing is the story: more than 18,000 feet of climbing on relentlessly stony ridgeline, with a 5:00 a.m. start and a 36-hour cutoff. The 2026 race was the 30th running.

The Virginia Happy Trails Running Club puts it on. Entry is $250 on UltraSignup, capped at 250 runners, and a finish counts as a Western States 100 qualifier.

Course

A loop through the Massanutten range from Caroline Furnace Lutheran Camp in Fort Valley: 100 miles with more than 18,000 feet of ascent on famously rocky trail. 5:00 a.m. start, 36-hour cutoff.

How to register

Entry is $250 on UltraSignup, capped at 250 runners with a waitlist once it fills. Registration for 2027 opens October 31, 2026 at 8:00 a.m. and runs until late April. Entries are first come, first served.
