About
Kaçkar by UTMB runs in the Kaçkar Mountains above the Black Sea coast of northeast Türkiye, with every race starting and finishing on the Ayder plateau. Its ultra is the Kaçkar 100K, which despite the name is 82 km, with 5,600 m of climbing. It starts at 4 a.m. on the Saturday and runs on a 24-hour limit.
The event began in 2025, when its long race did not go ahead, and moved two weeks earlier in September for 2026 in search of better weather. Entry for 2026 opened in December 2025, first to runners with a UTMB Index for 48 hours and then to everyone until the races sold out, with no waiting list.
Course
The Kaçkar 100K starts and finishes at Ayder at 4 a.m. Saturday and closes at 4 a.m. Sunday, 24 hours later. The weekend's Kaçkar 50K is 44 km.
How to register
The 2026 window opened on December 2, 2025 for 48 hours to runners with a valid UTMB Index, then to everyone until the races sold out, with no waiting list. The fee rises with demand, and the 2026 Kaçkar 100K cost from 155 to 190 euros.
