About
The Beaverhead Endurance Runs follow the Continental Divide National Scenic Trail along the crest of the Beaverhead Mountains, where the trail itself is the Idaho-Montana state line. The 100K starts at Bannock Pass and runs 62.1 miles south along the divide, high and remote, with 12,700 feet of climbing and 15,100 feet of descent; the course tops out above 10,000 feet and rarely drops below 8,000. A 55K covers the back half of the same route.
The 100K starts at 4:00 a.m. and has no finish-line cutoff, though runners must clear the Janke Lake aid station, near mile 50, by 7:30 p.m. A finish under 20 hours counts as a Western States 100 qualifier, and the race also carries a UTMB Index.
