About
Across the Years has closed out the ultrarunning calendar since 1983: fixed-time races where the clock, not a finish line, decides when you stop, and the result is however far you ran. The 6-day, 72-hour, 48-hour, and 24-hour events all share a short certified loop, so a runner chasing 500 miles circles the same course as one walking out a first 50K.
Now produced by Aravaipa Running at the Peoria Sports Complex outside Phoenix, the race is famous for its New Year's Eve midnight lap, fireworks, and a timing tent that has recorded some of the deepest multi-day fields in the country.
Course
A certified 1.42-mile (2.27 km) loop at Peoria Sports Complex on a mix of dirt and pavement. Flat, open, and entirely about pacing, sleep strategy, and the clock.
How to register
Registration opens through Aravaipa Running on UltraSignup, with separate entries for the 6-day, 72-hour, 48-hour, and 24-hour races. The 6-day starts December 28; every event runs through the midnight fireworks on New Year's Eve.
